Big Day of Giving to include the CA Ricelands Waterbird Foundation

By Paul Buttner

Now in our second full-year of operations, I’m very happy to announce that the California Ricelands Waterbird Foundation (CRWF) is now an approved charity within the Big Day of Giving effort that culminates on Thursday, May 2 this year. In fact, if you or your friends and professional associates want to schedule a donation on or before that date, you can click right HERE to make that happen.

The timing of this year’s Big Day of Giving also happens to coincide with a major “Matching Donations” Campaign we’ll be seeking over the next several months. California Rice is preparing to apply for a $10 Million Federal Grant opportunity, over a five-year period, to continue our highly successful waterbird practices that are critical to help sustain the millions of birds reliant upon remaining habitats in the Pacific Flyway. We must be able to show a one-to-one match in order to receive this grant. Therefore, every dollar we raise during this campaign will ultimately be matched to get twice the amount of habitat out on the ground!

We believe we are about halfway there which means the funding goal of our campaign is $5 million!

Please help us by using social media or whatever means you prefer to spread the word. We have links to our new social media pages at our Foundation website but they are also linked right here: Facebook; Instagram; Twitter. Please go there and Like us, Follow us, and Tweet us all the way to the finish line of our funding campaign. Thanks for your interest in helping the waterbirds and other wildlife right here in the greater Sacramento Valley region!
