Antonio Villagomez
One trip to Cilantros and you will understand the passion and innovation that Chef Antonio brings to his cuisine.
Antonio has been cooking since he was a boy, and knew he found his future calling when at age 12 he prepared fish for his family and received rave reviews.
He has been a professional chef for 16 years, and his goal for Cilantros is to provide excellent Hispanic food with nuances from other regions of the world. “My cooking is a mix of very traditional and fusion cuisine; creating dishes using two or more culinary influences,” he added.
Antonio’s longer-term goals include opening several restaurants, each with a completely different menu, including barbeque, European, Asian and other cuisines.
“It’s sad that most restaurants use a lot of premade food,” Villagomez said. “At Cilantros my customers enjoy fresh ingredients and food made from scratch.”
Chef Antonio provides a new recipe each week for readers of the Marysville Appeal-Democrat.
