Craig Takehara is Chef/Owner of Binchoyaki and brings 16 years of experience from kitchens large and small. Craig also studied the culinary arts at le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, California and has worked his way up through the ranks in many different kitchens with an array of cuisines.
The majority of his career he has worked in Orange County and the Los Angeles areas but has also worked the past few years in Sacramento where he is originally from. He has worked as a butcher and deli manager in multiple grocery stores then moving on to restaurants from fine dining French and Japanese to lunch and breakfast as well as late night dining and many different types of catering. He has spent time in different parts of Japan studying the art of Japanese cuisine and now would like to bring his passion for Japanese food here to Sacramento.
The experience of successfully opening many restaurants especially on a large scale has given him the knowledge to move forward with opening his own small restaurant Binchoyaki.
